Thalia M. Dubose

         Thay is the sole owner and lead attorney for the Law Office of Thalia M. Dubose and partner of Haughton, Dubose, and Nezami, PLLC (Parole Solutions Law Group), and an adjunct professor at Thurgood Marshall School of Law. She is a native of Fairfield, Alabama and a graduate of Fairfield Preparatory High School. She obtained her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU) with a major in Political Science and minor in Business Administration and where she also pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.

         She obtained her Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law and is a licensed attorney for the State of Texas. She is also federally licensed before the U.S. District Southern Court.  Before and during her law school career, she worked for Haughton and Associates doing Death Penalty-Post Capital Convictions and Appeals, and interned for the then Senator Rodney Ellis at the Texas Indigent Defense Commission in Austin, Texas.

        She predominately practices criminal defense in Houston, Texas as well as civil litigation, and personal injury law. She handles misdemeanors and felonies in Harris and surrounding counties throughout Texas. Recently, she has been nominated as a Rising Star in Criminal Law by the American Institute of Legal Advocates. She has sat on various political and legal panels discussing and advocating for justice reform for the youth and indigent people.

        She spends much of her time, talents, resources, and skills encouraging and motivating others in various speaking engagements. She gives back through volunteering, pro-bono work and mentoring across the many states and countries. She attributes her continued success on nothing less than determination, a strong supportive family, and God’s grace, favor, and mercy.
